  • Did you just get your dog back from a Pro and want to get better at running your own dog?
  • Whether for yourself or a group of your friends who want to take your training to the next level, please get in touch with me and we can come up with a good game plan to make YOU and your dog the better handling team. Plus, we will have a great time in the process!! :-)
  • I will still be taking in a limited number of dogs for tuneup work, with the ultimate goal being that YOU will be the one running the dog at tests, trials, or in the duck blind.
  • In addition, please check back for upcoming workshops being put on by either myself or guest trainers.
  • I specialize in all retriever breeds as well as other breeds allowed to run in the AKC Hunt Test program.

“If a dog will not come to you after having looked you in the face, you should go home and examine your conscience.”

I come from a competitive obedience background so my theories on a breaking dog comes from failure to understand basic commands.

Very rarely is “breaking” really a breaking problem.  It is a SIT problem.  A dog that knows SIT in its true meaning will not break.  Bad habits start as puppies when we pattern train to SIT for a cookie, SIT for the dinner dish to be put down, SIT by the front door or SIT for any behavior.  They really don’t learn that SIT is actually a command that means SIT STAY.  No other movement until another command is given.
